Multi Bintang has an effluent reclamation plant to recycle water and reuse it in the company’s secondary operational process, which reduces their overall water consumption. In 2018, two breweries in water shortage and water stress areas have started a water balancing project and by 2020 they are committed to achieving a 30% reduction in water consumption.

H&M applies supply chain transparency and traceability through 100% Circular activities. H&M has a clear platform and framework in engaging its suppliers called Supplier Impact Partnership Programme and encourages their suppliers to implement sustainable practices such as having wastewater treatment plants and using environmentally-friendly materials and chemicals.

More than 1,000 innovation programs related to energy efficiency have been made especially by Green PROPER-rated operating units.

Kreskros and 8villages

Founded in 2016, the company is focused on turning plastic waste into viable material. Together with 11 women in Ambarawa, the company is offering new ways of handling waste by providing coaching to local women to knit and crochet. The company won the Good Design Indonesia Award 2018 and Asephi Emerging Award 2018.

8Villages has developed the smartphone app “RegoPantes”, which means “fair price”, as a new way to sell – and shop for – groceries that bypasses the middlemen. Currently 583 farmers post on the app and transactions have reached 30,000 kg worth 112 million rupiah. By 2025, the company has set a target for five million farmers to be connected to the app, for the income of farmers to increase by 30% per year, and for one million partner farmers to be able to produce standard quality products.

Bayer and Medco Group collaborated on an accelerated revitalization program of vocational high schools, specifically for farmers and interested SMK graduates in the Merauke area which has a high potential for agricultural activity. Through this program, 100 farmers were provided agriculture vocational training which resulted in an increase of 2MT/ha in yield from the previous year.

Nestle has an energy efficiency policy in place that focuses on industrial refrigeration and have implemented numerous initiatives to reduce energy consumption from cooling systems.

United Tractors has taken the initiative to calculate their cooling loads and implement initiatives to reduce energy consumption from their cooling systems such as installing a Variable Refrigerant Flow system and changing the indoor temperature based on building occupancy.
